<Brennen> Stephen thinks GGK is slipping. I read The Last Light of the Sun about a month ago and have to admit it's probably the weakest of Kay's not-quite-historical novels (or romances) since A Song for Arbonne. On the other hand, I wouldn't call it a failure. It contained some beautiful writing and at least one really cool narrative trick. From a lesser author, I would have been favorably impressed. And if we're mapping some kind of trajectory for Kay's writing, well, his last two - the SarantineMosaic duology - are the most impressive things he's ever written.
