Initiation Of Force

IdeaLogging

<Brennen> There is this (Libertarian and Objectivist, I guess) notion that while one may use force to act in self-defense, one should never ''initiate'' the use of force against another. Sort of a CategoricalImperative, maybe?

See, frex, Force, Coercion, and Capitalism - Why is the initiation of force banned under Capitalism? on capitalism.org. Their tag line is "Capitalism is the social system based on the principle of individual rights.", so you know pretty much what side their bread is buttered on.
