Ok, so where was I?

Oh yeah. Spring break at Wayne is this week, which either means that I'll be doing a whole lot of nothing, or I'll have a lot of time to get stuff done - take your pick. I'm at a loss as to why WSC's spring break seems to be a week off from that of every other college in the state, but I quit expecting things to make sense around here some time ago.

Saw The Mexican the other night (since neither O Brother... nor Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon were still there). Seems to be getting ripped apart in reviews, but I'd rate it a decent rental.

Stuff I've read lately: Ursula K. Le Guin's The Left Hand of Darkness was a pleasant surprise. I sort of expected one of those books you know you're supposed to like and don't, but by the end I was hooked, and it's the sort of thing that keeps popping up in my thoughts a week later, and I suspect will continue to do so for a long time to come.

On the Beach by, I think, Nevil Shute (I'll have to check the spelling) is possibly one of the most depressing things I've ever read. Tells the story of a handful of Australian survivors of a global nuclear holocaust waiting for inevitable fallout and death by radiation sickness. Worth reading, if not exactly *enjoyable* to read, in much the same class as 1984.
